Alva Benjamin Ledrick Information


Alva B. Ledrick, 76, 509 N. Madriver, died Friday at 9:06 am at the Latham Care Center, where he was admitted July 11. Born Feb. 28, 1902, in Champaign County, he was a son of William and Mary Longbrake Ledrick, and was a retired employee of the State Highway Department. He had also worked as a boilermaker helper for the former New York Central System.

On Dec 24, 1939, in Pickerelltown, he was married to Jennie Ward and she preceded him in death on Aug. 22, 1965. Also deceased are a son, Ralph Ledrick; a daughter Mrs. Ruth Burchett, and one grandchild.

Surviving are one brother, Maynard Ledrick of Urbana; and three sisters, Mrs. Alice Neer of Urbana, Mrs Demme Evans of Sidney and Mrs. Arminta Patterson of Zephyrhills, Florida.

Services will be held Monday at 1 pm in the Eichholtz funeral home with the Reverand Gerald Geiger of the Hopewell United Methodist Church, of which the deceased was a member, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens, near West Liberty.

Friends of the family may call at the funeral home Sunday from 7 to 9 pm.
